Polimaster training for Nuclear Regulatory Authority in Ghana

IAEA Ghana RPM

On April 24-27, Polimaster conducted training for the Nuclear Regulatory Authorityin Ghana on the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Deployable Radiation Portal Monitor PM5000C-05M. The RPM was supplied as part of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) project aimed at strengthening the National Infrastructure for Radiation Safety in Ghana.

PM5000C-05M Deployable Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) is a highly sensitive deployable radiation monitor designed to detect radioactive and nuclear materials transported through a controlled area. The RPM is designed for fast deployment in emergencies and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Fast deployable RPM is designed to provide a high level of mobility and flexibility, allowing it to be used in a variety of settings to screen individuals, vehicles, or cargo at the scene of an incident or in temporary screening situations, such as at major public events.

The main advantages of PM5000C-05M include:

  • Easy transportation in IP67 cases
  • Fast and easy deployment and operation
  • Back-up battery providing at least 8 hours of operation
  • Ethernet or Wi-Fi communication with the operator PC
  • No stop of an object is required for measurement
  • Lead shielding for natural background rejection
  • Presence detection system (occupancy sensors)
  • Control zone up to 3 m × 2 m (W×H)
  • Optional video surveillance system

At Polimaster, we are committed to promoting radiation safety by providing high-quality equipment and training. The training conducted in Ghana for the Nuclear Regulatory Authority is just one example of our dedication to ensuring radiation safety worldwide. We believe that the use of deployable RPMs such as the PM5000C-05M is essential in protecting workers and the public from the risks of radiation exposure, and we are proud to play a part in promoting radiation safety globally.
